Maine Vote's to Legalize Recreational Marijuana; What is the future of the Caregiver Cottage Industry?

In Maine, voters turned out and narrowly passed a bill to Regulate and tax Marijuana like alcohol. That sounds fantastic does it not?    Maine is a model for progressive non-government and municipality interference.

The Medical Marijuana program which began in 2001 in Maine, was a Grass Roots from the bottom up initiative, by Mainers, to create high quality medical cannabis for their patients in need. The legislation was fought off by the state, and slowed down, and almost not allowed to begin in the first place. When Medical Marijuana was passed, the Caregiver Program was created as a cottage industry to regulate legal medical grows, and provide supervision and licensing through the Department of Health and Human Services.

It is the Caregivers, who are and have to be resident Mainers, that are to be congratulated for the success of the burgeoning industry, and its acceptance in a very conservative state. With the success of the program combined with more understanding since 2011, the state woke up to the fact that Marijuana is here to stay. Regulating Marijuana Like Alcohol is a fabulous idea,    so long as there is protectionism in place to continue to licence quality Caregivers to stay in the field and produce high level Boutique Pot, just as a Home Brewery is allowed to produce and bring to market its beer.

We have no problem with the Walmarts of the world trying to finagle (bribe) their way into the Maine Marijuana program through excessive licensing fees that they declare themselves, in a planned attempt to prohibit "the little guy and keep the riff raft out." One just needs to remember that as the Walmart "commercial" growers get their claws into the program, quality goes down. So does accountability from the top, as these firms owners and monetary funders ( Like George Sorros and other out of state venture capitalists) are not in touch with the grow themselves at all.

Let the Walmarts join. OK. Recreational Pot is here to stay. But allow the small time Grass Root Caregivers to bring their quality medicine to market, through a well regulated dispensary program that purchases and taxes excess Marijuana grown from the Medical Marijuana program. What do the Walmarts risk from allowing currently regulated Mom and Pop Marijuana Budderies to exist?

I have not made a post with recent pictures in a while. It is time to share how my plants are doing this year.

My greenhouse is 20'x 45'  and there are 32 plants inside it.

The door has become overgrown with branches,  and the buds have begun to thicken up at the colas.

My plants have been groomed and trimmed to allow the best growth to flourish at the top.

The trellises are set at 6' and the majority of plants are firmly established through the trellises at this time.

Take a good look!

My patients are lucky enough to receive two free grams with every OZ. of medicine purchased.

Please call and leave me a message today if you are looking for a quality Caregiver who is discrete, private, classy, and currently endowed with some very tasty and pungent smelling medicine.

Thanks for looking,

Johnny

How to make potent Weed Butter; The Complete Recipie

Weed Butter,  I mean, Medical Marijuana Butter, is one of the best ways to create a potent edible form of Marijuana at your own home.  It is not smoked, but eaten, or put into food the same way you would use regular butter in a recipe.

I have assembled all of the things that you will need to make a potent batch of weed butter with. The butter can then be used on a sandwich, bagel, toast,  or else used in a cooking recipe in place of butter or oil.
1) A double Boiler with a lid,  2) a fine strainer, 3) 1 OZ. of Weed!, and  4)  4 sticks of butter (one pound),

Fill the outer boiler more than half full of water.
Add in  4 sticks of butter ( 1 pound)
You must use 1/4 ounce per stick of butter to get the proper proportion.
A half pound of butter needs 1/2 OZ. of weed.
Begin heating the double boiler with the pound of butter inside.
Take out your buds.
Break the buds into joint weed. (this is 1 OZ.)
Once the outer water is boiling and the butter inside is melted, it is time to add in the buds.

Add them in slowly, so the don't spill.

How do you prefer to have your medicine?

What is the best way to consume your medicine? There are merits to each way of ingesting your medicine, but we want to know what works best for you.

Do you prefer a nice Joint?   Yes,  very social, but not conservative. Much of the smoke escapes from the joint itself.

How about a cooled and filtered Bong Hit?   Very effective, and conservative.   Too strong for some?
Or not enough lung power to ingest a full bong hot.

What about a small bubbler,   similar to a bong but smaller, and more easy to pull a good hit from.
Conservative, social, and effective.

Do you like to smoke from a pipe the most?  Effective, fairly conservative, social, and easily transportable.   Although small pipes can be hot on the inhalation.

How about a one hitter?   Very effective. Almost no waste at all,  very conservative, and transportable  but very hot on the lungs.

How about a Vaporizer?   Do you get the same high or not? They can be very expensive,  and some people say they don't get the full effect of their medicine when using a vape.  Let us know your thoughts below.

Hash?   Very effective. very tasty, and very difficult to find very good. This is America after all.

Edibles?  What is the best method of turning pot into quality edibles? Making butter? Candies?
Let us know what you do, and how it works.  Most people think that eating their medicine takes too long to effect them,  and is more of a body buzz than a head buzz.  Let us know your specific ways of eating and making edibles.

Will Legalization be on the 2016 Ballot in Maine?

What to you think?

It looks like a people's initiative has put legalization back onto the ballot for Maine voters this Fall. That is true Democracy in action. Recreational use of Marijuana for those over 21 years old, similar to the current system of Alcohol regulation. Will Maine voters come out to vote for Maine to be the first East Coast state to permit recreational use of Marijuana? It is time to work-together, and move forward to find a solution for Mainers.

Here is a link to a solid article about the likelihood of legalization in Maine one the ballot in 2016.

Building a Greenhouse

I began the Greenhouse project by having the bushes scraped back with a bucket and tractor. After the 50'x25' area was cleared, I was able to scrape it down with a heavy rake and a hoe. That took a lot of backbreaking time. Once the ground was cleared smoothly, I was able to begin setting up for the greenhouse.

I had 20 Railroad ties delivered from EBS (Ellsworth Builder's Supply). I first ran strings on poles, to have a straight line to run the railroad ties. I then laid permeable weed-blocker fabric down, beneath the railroad ties. This will make my life easier as time goes on, and keep a cleaner greenhouse, without invasive plant and bug species.

Then I continued to cover the entire area inside the railroad ties with weed-blocker fabric. I had to hold the fabric down with stones, so it would not be blown away in the wind. I have about 1.5'-2.0' of fabric outside the railroad ties, to give me an extra barrier against invasive plat material. It was a lot of tough work to dig in the ties, so they will stay flat, and straight in line. I wanted a perfect rectangle, of course!
