How to make potent Weed Butter; The Complete Recipie

     Weed Butter,  I mean, Medical Marijuana Butter, is one of the best ways to create a potent edible form of Marijuana at your own home.  It is not smoked, but eaten, or put into food the same way you would use regular butter in a recipe. 

      I have assembled all of the things that you will need to make a potent batch of weed butter with. The butter can then be used on a sandwich, bagel, toast,  or else used in a cooking recipe in place of butter or oil.
1) A double Boiler with a lid,  2) a fine strainer, 3) 1 OZ. of Weed!, and  4)  4 sticks of butter (one pound), 

Fill the outer boiler more than half full of water.
Add in  4 sticks of butter ( 1 pound)
You must use 1/4 ounce per stick of butter to get the proper proportion.
A half pound of butter needs 1/2 OZ. of weed.
Begin heating the double boiler with the pound of butter inside.
Take out your buds.
Break the buds into joint weed. (this is 1 OZ.) 
Once the outer water is boiling and the butter inside is melted, it is time to add in the buds.

Add them in slowly, so the don't spill.

Still regularly, and keep an eye on the pot.
This is the most important step.
The butter must be double boiled for 2.5 hours.
Yes,  two and a half hours,  and be stirred
regularly every 15 minutes.
Here is a view of the proper height of water in the outer boiler. Stay vigilant, do not let this boil away.
The outer boiler should be re-filled from time to time.
You don't need a digital thermometer, but I used one just to show you that the butter
hovers at close to boiling, but just under 220 degrees F.
It has been two hours and 30 minutes. I turned off the burner, and let the butter cool down for 10 minutes.
Now, I am ready to strain out the weed from the butter.
Do this slowly and carefully.

Here is the butter once it has been strained. It is green, yes, but still butter.

1 LB of butter made from 1 OZ. of Bud.
It is time to put the butter into the refrigerator and let it sit overnight.

Here is a close up of the strained butter the next day. It sat in the refrigerator all night, and has now reconstituted itself. The butter is ready to be used on toast, bagels, or to cook an egg in if you like.  Use it to make brownies, but find the brownie mix that requires 1/3 of a cup of oil to make sure the brownies are potent enough.

I believe that 1 tablespoon is just about a single dose.  Take it conservatively until you know how much is best for yourself.
Enjoy the major body buzz of your medical marijuana without smoking it!
